Honestly , I used everything I learned in Stu's Tribe / Membership Experience program and took a guess.

I knew (from my first failed attempt at pricing) that $89 was not aligned with my IC's needs nor was it aligned with the amount of time and effort I wanted to dedicate to my membership (I wanted to maintain my current work schedule of 10-ish hours per week).

$47 a month felt like a perfect fit to go along with my $597 course. It worked out perfectly!

 My advice: don't start high-priced like I did. It is much easier to RAISE prices (something I will be doing soon!) than to justify a decrease.

As I broke down in detail in my training, I make around $13,000 in monthly recurring revenue from my 2 memberships, working a VERY part-time schedule and staying home with my 2 sons.

This year, I hope to grow that to over $25,000 per MONTH in recurring revenue (which I also detailed in the training!)-- 

And here's the beauty of that-- I structured my memberships to be scalable (and I have plans to outsource), so this growth won't require extra hours on my part.

Luckily, in my original course launches, I didn't PROMISE lifetime access to an alumni group-- it was more of a surprise-and-delight thing. 

Had I promised free lifetime access to the group, I would have included those who enrolled in my course BEFORE the change in my "lifetime founding members" without charging them.

Some people did leave the group (they decided they did not want to pay $47 monthly), but it was only a handful of people and they had not been very engaging in the group anyway. 

I wish I had put more thought and intention into my ORIGINAL pricing and offer and gone with the course + backend membership right away.

I made the pricing change just a few months after my original membership announcement and it did confuse my audience for a few months.

I had to do a lot of work explaining my reasoning behind all the changes.

Pivoting and being agile is GOOD-- but sometimes being more thoughtful and intentional before making a major business decision is better :)

With my monthly deliverables (group coaching call, one template and/or training, weekly check-in posts, and a FB group), I rarely spend more than 3-4 hours monthly on my membership. More of my time goes into creating my free content to grow my audience.

You do NOT need to feel burdened by your membership or like you are always on the "content hamster wheel"!
